West Bloomfield rallied from 5-2 down to beat Livonia United 7-6 in two overtimes in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1, Region 4 pre-regional boys lacrosse matchup at Livonia Stevenson on Tuesday, May 14.
West Bloomfield advances to face defending MHSAA Division 1 champion Detroit Catholic Central on Friday, May 17, at Catholic Central.
Nicholas Long scored the game-winner with 11 seconds left in the second overtime for West Bloomfield.
Goalie Ethan Gulati got the win for the Lakers, making numerous key saves in regulation and in overtime, including one in the closing seconds of the game as the Lakers were two players down due to penalties which led to the winning goal.
Down 5-4 heading into the final quarter, Jacob Cuda score two goals to put the Lakers up 6-5 with 8:41 left. Livonia United would tie the game with 5:29 remaining.
Long scored two goals for the Lakers. Casey Chudler and Marshall Meyer added goals in the victory.
Livonia led 3-1 after one quarter and 5-3 at halftime.
